Your role in helping us shape the future: U.S. News empowers everyone to thrive. As part of a growing health services research team, you will generate actionable insights for U.S. News clients from a trove of healthcare data: the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Virtual Data Research Center (VRDC). These clients subscribe to U.S. News’ proprietary Hospital Data Insights (HDI) platform, which is currently constructed around the Best Hospitals rankings and ratings. You will enrich and expand the HDI value proposition with new data and analytical outputs that may guide hospital and healthcare quality improvement initiatives, market share strategies, and more. You will work closely with the team of data scientists and analysts who produce the Best Hospitals rankings and ratings, leveraging their code and analytical strategies to better serve clients. You will also work closely with the market-facing product management team in an agile operating model. The results of your work will receive the attention of a broad group of healthcare stakeholders, including leaders of health systems, and contribute to improving hospital quality and performance. You will have opportunities to engage with healthcare executives, researchers and clinicians. Your work will drive change in healthcare. On a day-to-day basis, you will principally write and review code that operates on large datasets in the CMS VRDC. You will perform exploratory data analyses, generate reports to inform analytic strategy, and then execute on analytic plans.
